For this first session of the 2D class we were given an icebreaker task of creating two 50 minute drawings, one character and one environment using the same two point perspective given in the provided images.
Given Character Image
Given Environment Image
I first began by starting with the environment drawing and started by creating guidelines based on the given image. I then created a rough line art sketch of a library style room in this view. I found this task really difficult as I struggle to see in perspective when drawing and feel as though this is a major point I need to practice. I also find the time limit of this task really challenging as after masking out all the guidelines and creating rough line art I didn't have time to apply colour and edit which would have helped bring the concept to life. I then moved on to create the character concept in the same time window and again began by creating guidelines and again struggled with the time frame and the perspective. I have now discovered perspective is an area of drawing I majorly need to practice in and I believe this will help with creating better detailed concepts in the future.
